Cloud Storage vs. Private Cloud

Private clouds are the latest threat to cloud storage vendors which is a shame following the amount of time and effort which cloud storage vendors put into resolving the previous issues which customers had with their systems. These included mainly security fears which businesses had about handing the security of their data over to a third party cloud storage vendor. Cloud storage vendors spent a lot of money implemented file encryption services, mirrored data centers and redundant hardware systems to convince businesses that it was worth their while and also safe to invest in their services. Secondly, a lot of cloud storage vendors had to overcome laws and legislation to get their product to market, but private cloud services could make all of this work pointless. Private clouds allow a user to have their very own cloud storage service which may sound awesome but a lack of knowledge might lead to the user being a bit out of their depth. It’s important to remember that cloud storage vendors have a lot of experience at hosting data, it’s likely that businesses wont. Secondly, the cost of private cloud massively dwarfs the cost of your average cloud storage service which will prove very important.
