But what would an update be without the addition of a few new features? ‘Resumable Uploads’ is one of the newbie tools we’re sure our online storage users will find particularly useful. The function of this feature is exactly what its name suggests.

Imagine you’re backing up a large file, let’s say 1 gigabyte, and you get to the mid-stage of the upload and then, to your horror, your internet connection fails. Now, previous to the release of our update, you would have to restart the entire process of backing up the file once your connection was reinstated. But, thanks to the all-new Resumable Uploads feature, this problem has been obliterated; as soon as you reconnect, the app will remember you had uploaded half the file, and will subsequently continue to only upload the second half.

Clever stuff, right? And mightily handy for saving time, too!

To get going with our new online storage desktop app, you won’t have to do a single thing. If you’re a new customer, you’ll automatically download and install our new software. And if you’re an existing customer, your app will be automatically updated shortly.

Over the past few months, our JustCloud development team has been working on a brand new Mac online storage desktop application. The goal was to take the control panel to the next level, enhancing each and every aspect of its functions and abilities such as speed and user-friendliness, while continuing to provide the plethora of features our customers have come to expect.

Not just an improvement on its predecessor, this new version also has a few extra features built into its interface. One we know many of our customers will find highly practical—due to the masses of time it can save—is the all new RESUMABLE UPLOADS feature.

Prior to its inclusion, if a customer was halfway through uploading a large file to their online storage account and they lost their internet connection, the upload process for that file would have to be started again from the very beginning once reconnected. But this can be an inconvenience—especially if the file was particularly large, like say a wedding video.

This is an issue of the past thanks to the new Resumable Uploads feature, however. Because now, when you re-establish your internet connection, the file will continue uploading from the latest point. So, if you’d previously uploaded 50%, this is where it will continue uploading from. (This is because this intuitive feature remembers!)

Another feature some customers may take a liking to is the all new LANGUAGE SELECTOR, which…well, you’ve guessed it! If you’d like to view the desktop application in a range of other languages besides American and British English, such as French, German, Spanish and Italian, it just takes a few clicks.

To experience this powerful new update, our customers don’t need to do anything extra. If you’ve been with us a while, the update will take place automatically; new subscribers will also receive the new version when they setup their free online storage account.

But…what happens when your PC’s hard drive reaches the end of its life? What happens when it flat-lines? Unfortunately hard drives weren’t built to last forever, so this is a reality we users must all face.

Transferring your cloud storage license to a different computer (so you can retrieve your files) can sound like hard to work to some. But we can assure you it’s dead easy. So easy in fact, that it’ll take you merely minutes.

Just follow these 4 simple steps:

1.  From your new/other computer, you’ll need to log into your cloud storage account via our website. Just click “Login” and enter your email address and password.

2.  Next, you need to download and install our cloud storage app. So click on “Download” (bottom left corner) and then save the file to your computer. Your Desktop is always a convenient location. Proceed to install the app.

3.  Return to your control panel in your web browser and click “Your Account” and then “Health Check”.

4.  You will see that your old computer is currently assigned with your license. But of course, as you know, this computer has stopped serving you. So now you need to un-assign your license from this computer and reassign it to the one you’re using. It sounds simple—and it is. Click “Un-assign” (then “Yes” in the confirmation window) followed by “Re-assign”. See the pic below for an example.

The license transference has now been completed and you can restore all your data, and use your cloud storage account just as you did before.

And it’s as painless as that!

If transferring licenses to multiple computers is something you’d like to do regularly, there is always the option of purchasing extra licenses. This can make things a lot simpler and save time.
