We all used to make excuses when we were kids about why our homework was late, didn’t we? It got lost, sir. The dog ate it, miss. And if you were at school when there were computers around, you probably used the old hard drive failure excuse, or the accidental deletion excuse.
Luckily these are all things that we only do in our youth though, aren’t they? For none of us would ever try to blame a computer for late work in adulthood, would we?
Well…I wouldn’t be so sure. Because as many employers know, this is not always the case.
But let’s not get into the blame game here—because not all employees are dishonest! In fact, hard drive failure and unintentional deletion are common mishaps of life that will happen from time to time, whether we like it or not.
What way is there to totally remove this problem, though? How can work be recovered when a hard drive has died on your employees, or when they have hit the delete button accidentally?
Have you heard of cloud storage, by any chance? The likelihood is that you have. But let’s quickly go through why it can save your bacon when it comes to office work being handed in late.
Cloud storage means business because:
- it backs up files daily (or hourly) to its servers, creating multiple versions too
- it can offer instant recovery of files (for when hard drives say ‘No mas…’
- it can offer additional licenses for an employee’s home use
- it can offer file collaboration between office and business travelling employee’s
- and a whole lot more
So, considering these benefits, can your business really afford to be without cloud storage?
